Ex-American Idol contestant Ian Benardo is suing the show for $300 million.  Benardo, who stole the mic from Dane Cook during this year’s finale claims Cook threatened him after the show.  In 2006 when he first auditioned for Idol, he says producers exploited his sexual orientation by instructing him to “gay it up.”  Benardo also claims that producers gave him similar instructions when he was invited back for the 2010 finale.  As a result of his experiences with Idol, he says he’s suffered emotional injuries and loss of employment opportunities.
