Here’s a way to test your marriage: on a Saturday, take your husband to a baby store, and ask him to pick a crib from the hundreds of models.

That’s what I did last weekend. Five hours and three stores later, we were both overwhelmed, cranky and willing to buy anything, just to get out of the store.

But I think we made some good purchases. Now we can tick crib, mattress, dresser and stroller off our ‘to buy’ list.

The stroller was the toughest decision; double strollers are massive! I want to be able to walk through doorways into stores and restaurants, so a side-by-side stroller was out. And the tandem strollers are so long! Pushing it around the store, I felt like I could have taken someone out a block away.

We had to order a drink holder for it. What mom wants to walk around pushing a stroller without somewhere to put her coffee? Or beer… come on… it’s twins!!!! I’m going to need a drink now and then.
